{"id":7628,"date":"2022-04-07T21:57:12","date_gmt":"2022-04-07T19:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.2leadership.org\/?p=7628"},"modified":"2026-05-27T14:02:29","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T12:02:29","slug":"kotters-change-model","status":"publish","type":"glossary_entry","link":"https:\/\/www.2leadership.org\/en\/kotters-change-model\/","title":{"rendered":"Kotter&#8217;s Change Model"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The John Kotter change management model includes the 8-Steps to change for the change process itself, and 4 principles to guide the \u2018people\u2019 part of change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kotter\u2019s 8-step process is designed to ensure change managers have created the right environment to effect change, develop the support they need to make the change happen, and keep the momentum going throughout the change, so things don\u2019t stall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kotter change management model is used by many organisations going through a change in their company, whether it\u2019s a change of location, processes, or business tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the perspective of organisational transformation, it could be worthwhile to consider a different order for the proposed steps.
