{"id":7602,"date":"2022-04-07T21:42:05","date_gmt":"2022-04-07T19:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.2leadership.org\/?p=7602"},"modified":"2026-05-27T14:02:28","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T12:02:28","slug":"change-curve","status":"publish","type":"glossary_entry","link":"https:\/\/www.2leadership.org\/en\/change-curve\/","title":{"rendered":"Change Curve (Elisabeth K\u00fcbler-Ross)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1969, Dr. Elisabeth K\u00fcbler-Ross wrote about the \u201c5 Stages of Death\u201d also known as the \u201c5 Stages of Grief\u00ae\u201d , \u201c5 Stages of Loss\u00ae\u201d , or just \u201cThe 5 Stages.\u201d She identified these stages as defence mechanisms or coping mechanisms to change, loss, and\/or shock. The stages were not meant to describe a linear or step-by-step process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nonetheless, these 5 stages have been laid out as Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance, as this is a common path in understanding how people react emotionally to significant change or loss.
